Come join us - lets make a change.
Decolonise Architecture is a solution-based group driven to tackle institutional racism and bias within architecture and its education. We engage students and educators to establish the shortfalls within the system’s current models, and advise on methodologies for change.
Since founding, we've always been interested in making knowledge of our built world more diverse and inclusive. Our built world is after all experienced by all, and has an effect on everyone.
So whether you are an academic, student or just someone who is really interested in the built world, we want to hear from you. Come say hello and let’s discuss ways in which we can work together to create an impact for the better. OPEN CALL
We are on the lookout for stories, critiques, and reflections for our May - June 2024 Editorial:
Ballots and Building.
How can the power of the ballot can make or break buildings?
How have politicians used buildings (and the act of building) to get your vote? How your vote can affect your environment? What agency do we - spatial practitioners, urban dwellers, voters - have in building and democracy?
We invite everyone, regardless of discipline, identity, background, or experience to join us in exploring ideas and stories that remain untold. From personal stories, to academic essays, we welcome original written contributions that offer a different take on this issue that affects us all.
